Gerald brings over 20 years of leadership experience across global automotive OEMs and high-growth startups, spanning Europe, China, and the U.S.
He led NIO’s successful European market entry, establishing operations across key markets including Germany, Sweden, Denmark, and the Netherlands.
Previously, at BYTON, he headed digital product management teams in the U.S. and China, shaping AI-driven in-car experiences and new mobility business models.
His career includes pioneering Google’s first AR vehicle configurator, collaborating with Amazon on next-generation in-car technology, and launching BMW’s first electric vehicles across multiple European markets.

He held senior leadership roles at BMW, BYTON, and Faraday Future, guiding products from vision to launch while building U.S. business models, retail networks, and strategic partnerships.
A pioneer of automotive digitalization, he led BMW’s first U.S. electric vehicle initiatives and introduced online-to-offline sales models that reshaped customer engagement.
Most recently, Jose has focused on scaling EV startups through critical pre-IPO phases, designing go-to-market strategies and positioning brands for competitive global launches.
